It’s a wild a crazy Friday night here in Seattle! Well, not really ha ha. Although today is our 3 week lunganniversary! The feeling still hasn’t set it. When I go outside I find myself standing on the curb letting my new lungs fill up as much as they can with fresh air, holding it in and then slowly letting it out. Not only does the fresh air feel great, but not coughing is the best feeling in the world!! LOVE IT!!!
This morning I woke up did my morning routine, and then jumped in the shower. Once I got out, I put on a pair of jeans and a button up shirt today! First time I’ve worn “normal” clothes in 35 days! With the help of my mom we dried my hair and even straightened it. Man I have to say I felt so much more like a human!
I had a FaceTime appointment with Mrs. Molly Boyé’s 8th grade science class. Oh my gosh they totally made my day! The kids had made several different signs for me, and then each kiddo asked me a question. The questions ranged from “what is a set back I’ve experienced so far during my transplant.” “What do I really want to do now that I have new lungs?” “How long have I been a fan of WWE?” “Who’s my favorite comedian?” Mrs. Boyé even asked “How did they break my sternum and how did they cut my chest open?” They asked more great questions too! I felt so privileged to meet each and individual student, and they took time out of their day just for me. I also received an manila envelope last night stuffed full of hand made cards! It brought tears to my eyes reading them. All of their kind words, prayers, thoughts, cute hand made pictures ahhh I’m getting teary eyed just thinking about it. It goes to show how caring and concerned kids (and adults too!) are. In the past I subbed for Mrs. Boyé and also when her class was learning about gene mutation I put together a traveling show! I have a slide show and talked about CF, I also brought my therapy equipment and let the kids feel what I went thru. So I know a lot of the kids. LOVED IT!!! If anyone would else like FaceTime, just let me know I’m always up for it! But all in all thank you Mrs. Boyé and students for totally making my day, I enjoyed our FaceTime today!!!
After our FaceTime appointment there was a knock on the door. My dad answered it and it was a bellman delivering a package for me. I quickly opened the box and it was a wonderful “Sunshine” Willow Tree angel sent from the Carpenter’s and Hamilton’s. That was very thoughtful of you guys! She is sitting on the tv stand. Love it! Thank you very much!
The four of us headed out for some lunch and then a few more groceries at Target. I’ve been craving gluten free pizza ever since I was discharged from the hospital. Twenty days without pizza I think that’s a record for me. Ha ha. We found a great pizza place across the street from Target. Needless to say I chowed down! After lunch we ventured over to Target again. It was a quick trip this time, and I didn’t require a break on top of a mixer box either! Ha ha. The target we went to is like a super Walmart, they have a nice selection of groceries, meats and even fresh veggies! After wandering around Target for awhile we paid for our items and headed back to our hotel. After we unpacked groceries and settled in my mom and I started watching a show on Netflix next thing I know I fell asleep! Oops! Now we are all relaxing before we call it a day.
Alright peeps I need your help! March 9th (which is a Monday) Loggers Pizza and Tap House wants to do a fundraiser for us. Starting at 11:00 am until closing, Loggers will donate 15% of the proceeds to us, BUT there’s a catch. You HAVE to let your waiter or waitress know you want to donate to Jennifer Dwight’s Fight in order to make a donation. Loggers will have a tip jar set up and a few auction items as well. We will post it all over facebook, but I need your help spreading the word! We need to max out Loggers on March 9th people! They have, in my book, hands down the best gluten free pizza!!! Remember March 9th!
Alright it’s time for this girl to start her evening routine. Hope every has a great Friday night!
Until next time………..
