Good evening,

Well, tonight’s blog is coming a little early tonight. Kerry and I are getting ready to watch the SNL 40th reunion show. I really hope that Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake a family feud skit. I love that one!

Today was another good day. Hopefully tomorrow the chest tubes start coming out. They did put them back on water seal, which is basically gravity draining. I am getting tired of lugging four of them around everywhere I go. Especially when they give me the lasics to help get the water off my body. My legs are a little swollen.

I have been working hard to make myself stronger. I am able to get up and down from a chair with very little help from Kerry or the staff. Getting out of bed is still a challenge though, but I am sure it will get easier.

I still have one walk to go tonight. I have been going 4 laps each time. I have been on three walks today, so I am way above yesterday’s totals. On our third walk today, we passed a gentleman in the hallway. He looked familiar to me. Once we got passed him and around the corner, Kerry and I talked about him. He was the gentleman who was wheeled in the pre-op room at the same time I was in there. The next lap, we started communicating with them. Just hi, how are you doing? The third lap, he asked about her lung transplant and we asked about his. After lap four, I was headed to the room and Kerry was in the hall when they came by. He told Kerry that Wednesday was his first dry run. Kerry told him that was our first time too. He said that those were the 30 craziest hours of his life. He didn’t know what to expect. Kerry agreed. Kerry also told him that the emotions were very mixed for us too. We were so happy that it happened, but were saddened that he wasn’t getting a lung that day. Just glad he got his lung and is doing well!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Until next time………..

Thanks for the update on the gentleman who was in pre-op with you. I can’t imagine the mixed emotions when you all realized what was going on. It is nice to know he received his lung and is doing well. Keep working hard, my friend! You are doing amazingly well and I think of you all frequently. Much love!
