First of all I would like to thank Logger’s Tap House for putting on an amazing fundraiser tonight! I was able to talk to Margie Locks and she said they were busy all day!! She said she could feel the love from our community!! I would also like to thank each and everyone of you who went to Logger’s to support us! Each and everyone of you have played a role in this amazing journey! I couldn’t have done it without you. THANK YOU VERY MUCH from the bottom of our hearts!! I hope everyone had an extra slice of pizza for me. Ha ha. No in all honesty I wish I could have been there with you folks, soon though!!
This morning I woke up and of course I did my morning routine, took my med’s and ate breakfast. I told my dad I was going to watch “Hour Power” aka Price is Right. Well I made it about the first ten minutes I was out. Who knew my lung pillow would make a good head rest/pillow. I was out like a light. Ha ha. When I woke up it was over. 🙁
Today was another sunny day in Seattle, windy and cold but Mr. Sunshine was out today! We took advantage of the day though. We hopped on the Trolly and headed for downtown. We found a really cool Taphouse for lunch. They had 160 beers on tap, needless to say my dad and Kerry were in heaven! Ha ha. I had a delicious sandwich and a cup of soup. It was really good!
After lunch we caught the afternoon showing of American Sniper. All I can say is “Wow!” What a power movie!! Enjoyed every minute of it. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the entire place! You can’t enjoy a good movie without movie popcorn!! Had to throw down a bag! Ha ha
We walked back to the Trolly stopped and hopped on. Instead of going to our apartment we went to the bar downstairs and had a drink. Well everyone else had a drink, I had a good old stand by Dr. Pepper! Due to some of the medications I’m on I can’t drink for the next 10 weeks (12 total). Oh well, I can hold out. Ha ha. It was funny we were all visiting, enjoying each other’s company and the bartender turned on Monday Night Raw for me. Had to watch Roman In his 2-1 handicap match with Seth Rollins and Randy Orton. By the way the match ended fabulously! Roman wins, and Randy Orton laid the smack down on Seth Rollins! Love it!!
We eventually made it back to our apartment, sitting on the couch reflecting on the day. Such a great day! Feeling amazing!! My chest is feeling less sore today. Have I shared with you guys how much I LOVE being able to walk around and breathe easy?? I’m sure I’ve mentioned it a time or too! Ha ha. When we got back to our apartment I had some mail waiting for me. I received two very sweet greeting cards from Steve & Mary Cooper (part of my drag racing family) and the the Hearts Across America Ministires Young At Heart. Thank you guys very much! Your words are very encouraging!
I was able to FaceTime with Candice Fredericks today. One of my many favorite nurses at Mercy!! I also got to visit with Debi Groshong, Randy Young, Warren, and many others!! It totally made my day! Miss seeing them!! Hopefully I will be able to see them on the outside now, instead of “locked up” in jail! :). My Aunt D, along with my cousins Jon and Michelle were at Logger’s tonight, even though it was hard to hear them we were able to say “hi”. Miss them so much!! Erin Weber and her family were also at Logger’s, so we had a quick FaceTime session as well. She did a panoramic view of the restaurant and it was packed!! She also said the bar area was packed as well! You guys are awesome!! Can’t thank each and everyone of you enough!!
Tomorrow is support group day. The second Tuesday of every month the pre/post lung transplant social worker puts on a support group meeting. This months topic is about coming in contact with the donor family. Should be pretty interesting! Well it’s time to hit the hay for this girl. Hope everyone had a great Monday!
Until next time………
