Well Mr. Sunshine came out for a little while today. So nice to see!! Woke up and watched The Price is Right this morning then started my day. My dad left early this morning, the saws are starting to pile up at his shop. I know he will work hard, get caught back and will be back here in no time. Kerry left early Sunday morning as well, so it’s just my mom and I for the week! Kind of nice to have some girl time! Ha ha.
We took advantage of the nice weather today, hopped on the trolley and went downtown. We walked around, did some window shopping, and then we ended up going into the mall. Stopped in a few stores bought a couple of goodies and then we ended up going to the movies. Both my mom and I have been dying to see Fifty Shades Of Gray. We’ve had plans to see it since opening day, well obviously that hasn’t happened until today! Was a good movie except for the ending! Are you kidding me!!???? Hope I don’t have to wait another year for the second one!!! Goodness! Lol.
After we finished our movie and walking around we jumped back on the trolley and came back to our apartment. When we arrived we noticed we had a letter under our door. Apologizing for the recent fire alarm, they had to evacuate the entire hotel! So needless to say we were kind of glad we were gone.
Okay I’m not one to vent but I have to let off a little steam tonight. I’ve enjoyed my time here in Seattle but I’m beyond ready to go home! I’m really missing our “small” town. Every time I step out of our apartment I wear my mask. Today as we were walking around the mall people would give me some really obnoxious looks. I got extremely frustrated with two different stores. I had several items in my hands, but I needed help. I walked by numerous store workers and not one person would even make eye contact with me. I ended up dropping all the items and walking out of both stores! I figured just because I’m wearing a mask doesn’t mean you should treat your customers differently! As I sit here and complain I would like to write a letter to their corporate office and tell them how disappointed I am with my experience in their stores. Kind of funny the last store my mom and I went into was Sephora I picked up a couple of items and headed for the check out counter. The lady who waited on me was nice as pie! She said “oh I see your wearing a mask, I hope everything is okay.” I replied with “of course!!! I feel amazing.” I eventually told her I was 6 weeks post double lung transplant, which struck up a conversation between the two of us. She was so happy to wait on me, and was excited to hear how well I am doing she ended up giving me several free gifts! I will definitely give her high feedback on their website, and will go back to her if I need anything else! Just amazes me how differently people can treat you because your wearing a mask. Only if people knew my story , it is a pretty amazing one! I think I need to make a custom shirt saying “please don’t stare at my mask, stare at my new lungs I just received!” Or something along those lines. Okay my rant session is over!
Well tomorrow morning I get evaluated for pulmonary rehab. Should be interesting! Will let everyone know what happens! Hope everyone had a great Monday!
Until next time……..
