Today was clinic day. We have to be at the hospital by 8:00 o’clock for blood draws. Instead of fighting with my port and wasting the nurses time, we just went ahead a peripheral draw out of the back of my hand. I realized how much I HATE being poked! Lol. Next we headed downstairs to do a chest X-rays. I think it took longer to put the gown on then it did to take the actual pictures. Ha ha. When the X-ray technician called my name, I followed him back to the X-ray room, I walked straight up to the X-ray board and assumed the position. His response was “oh you must have done this a time or two?!!?” I said “maybe just a couple!” Ha ha. Once the X-rays were complete I changed back into my clothes and we headed down the hall for PFT’s. My FEV1 was down to 68%. Which was alarming to me. After PFT’s we headed back up stairs to see Dr. Sid. The first question I ask “what are we going to do about my PFT’s?” He looked through my journal at my home spirometry and my numbers are staying very consistent. Then Dr. Sid asked if I had allergies and i replied with “yes”. I’ve been taking Claritin buy it doesn’t help 100%. He thinks it could be one of two things. One the drop could be related to allergies or two it could have been a glitch in the test. So the plan is to repeat PFT’s next Wednesday if they continue to drop, I will have to have a bronchoscopy done to make sure I’m not going through rejection. Yesterday was a long and busy day, I was pretty tired this morning too, so that could have been a factor as well. So fingers crossed they will be better next week! I know they will be. Just have to be positive! Other than that Dr. Sid thinks we are still doing great! He also mentioned talking to general surgery tomorrow to see if they can remove my port and peg tube at the same time. Will be so weird to see those two “life lines” go away! They want to take them out since they are a foreign object in my body it’s a source for infection, and we don’t want any infections going on with my new breathers!!! Plus I haven’t been using either one for quite awhile, and don’t need them anymore. Hopefully we will have an answer tomorrow about the removal on my port and peg tube. So I will let you guys know!

After clinic my mom and I need to get out of the big city for a few days. We decided to drive to Leavenworth, Washington for a few days. It’s about two hours east of Seattle, a Bavarian themed town. We only walked down two blocks of the promenade, there’s so much to do!! Tons of shops, restaurants, museums and much more! Can’t wait to get out and explore more of the town tomorrow. Lots of outdoor stuff too! Reminds me so much of home!! I took some pictures with my big camera today, but plan on taking a lot more tomorrow. I took a couple pictures with my phone so I could upload them to the blog tonight. I will upload more tomorrow!!

Anyways today has been another busy day. Ready to call it a day. Plus it time to take my meds and do my nightly routine. Hope everyone had a great Wednesday! Oh by the way if anyone ever visits Leavenworth the Bavarian Lodge is a great place to stay!!!! Extremely friendly and the lodge is beautiful!

Goodnight everyone!

Until next time………

We will indeed keep our fingers crossed for a good outcome next week. I have never been to Leavenworth Wa.lLooks like a great little town. Theme towns can be so fun. I am sure I would enjoy the Leavenworth in Wa. much better than the one in Kansas (military prison) 🙂

Thinking wonderful thought for next week. When you go to the clinic is it at the UW or SCCA???

I’ve always wanted to visit Leavenworth. Wonder the prices of that lodge? I had sticker shock yesterday when I called Yellowstone Old Faithful Lodge and the room w/a bathroom available was almost $500. a night. YIKES
