Another Fun Day in Leavenworth!

Today was another great day in Leavenworth! No honking horns, fresh air, trains passing by, backed up traffic, ahhhhh so peaceful!! The morning started off sleeping in, I only woke up once and then out like a light again. Just what my new breathers needed!!! Weather wise it was cloudy this morning, but by the afternoon Mr. Sunshine came to visit!

My mom and I did a ton or walking around downtown. Did lots of window shopping, also looked at some very interesting restaurant menu’s. Lots of German restaurants but they cook with flour products, so there wasn’t much I could eat. I have to say walking past all these bakeries and pretzel houses were TOUGH!! Oh man they looked so good!

My mom and I drove up the river after dinner. Such a pretty site! Took lots of photos with my big camera. Can’t wait to download them all and share them with you!

While my mom and I were out and about I received a phone call from Dr. Sid saying I have the green light to get my port and peg tube removed!!!!!! No more monthly flushes or nightly feeds, so crazy! I will NOT miss my peg tube at all! No more wearing sponge gauze because it leaks, and especially excited no more mess on my clothes! Whoop whoop! I do have to say I will be sad to see my port go. It’s been my life line for the last nine years. It feels like a piece of me will be missing, just like my old lungs. But if I don’t need it anymore then it’s time to take it out. I am waiting for a call from interventional radiology to schedule the appointment. They will take my port and peg tube out at the same time.

I totally forgot to mention yesterday, I crossed off another bucket item yesterday!!!! When I was packing for our trip to Leavenworth, I had TWO bags! Well one bag with some clean clothes and a tote bag with my SAMS box, blood pressure machine, home spirometry machine, thermometer and a bottle of enzymes!!! So cool!!!! I should have taken a picture. But no nebs, cooler, nebulizer machines, vest, or making sure if I have enough oxygen tanks to get through the trip. I have to say it was AMAZING to pack two small bags, throw them in the car and take off! So cool!!!!! Love it!!!

Well I just kicked off my shoes and ready to watch Scandal! I will post a couple pics below. I again took with my phone (well s couple my mom took, I’m sure you’ll recognize which ones lol) so not the best but at least you can get an idea. Hope everyone had a great Thursday! Goodnight everyone!!
