Today was a great day in Seattle! Started off with a nice relaxing morning. Emily and I both slept in, enjoyed our coffee and tea and a bright Mr. Sunshine!! Beautiful morning!!! We finally decided to get our rears in gear and got ready for the day.

We had to take advantage of the beautiful weather, so we headed out the door. I couldn’t help myself, I made Emily ride the S.L.U.T (South Lake Union Trolley), we successfully arrived downtown, we decided to do the WestLake Duck Tour. Which was a total blast! On the Duck Tour you get a 90 minute ride aboard on a World War II Amphibious Landing Craft. You get a tour all over Seattle by land a sea. We saw some pretty cool sites, including the komo 4 news building )which the home to the hit tv show Grey’s Anatomy, the actual show is filmed in Los Angeles), Sleepless In Seattle houseboat, multimillion dollar house boats, the first Starbucks, and so much more!! As we were heading towards Gas Works Park we passed a TON of boats, and of course I was looking. To my surprise we passed the Cornelia Maria!!! I’m an avid fan of Deadliest Catch, and the Cornelia Maria is a crab fishing vessel from the show owned by the late great Phil Harris. I was beyond excited! Ha ha. Took a few pictures but would like to go back tomorrow or the following day to take a few more pictures. Emily kept laughing at me, because I was like a kid in the candy store when I saw the vessel!

After the Duck Tour we hopped on the monorail and headed for the Space Needle. I bought tickets online so we avoided the lines, and got right in. Personally I think the elevator ride is the best part. We took in the great and amazing views the Space Needle we decided to go inside sit down for a few minutes, and boy did we time it perfectly. The rain clouds came in and opened up. It started pouring buckets, we even had hail!! We decided to get a jumbo space needle drink and wait the storm out! Was a spectacular site to see. It took about twenty minutes or so for the storm to pass. Once it did we made a run for it. Down the elevator, and back to the monorail we went. We successfully navigated back downtown, on the trolley we went, and then back to the apartment! I was proud of myself, for remembering how to get back home! Ha ha.

We took a quick break and then headed out the door again. Walked across the street to Chandlers for a delicious dinner. Now we both have our sweats on and about ready to call it a day! Not sure who is more tired Emily or myself! Had a busy but adventurous day. Was very proud of myself for keeping up with Emily. She was very impressed I could put my shoes on this morning and away we went. She couldn’t believe we didn’t have to pack oxygen tanks, inhalers, just my kit to check my blood sugars and a few pills! She kept saying “how awesome this is!” So glad I can share this experience with her, extremely grateful she made the journey to come out and see me! I have had some very special visitors this week, and I am extremely grateful to have Ken & Jennifer Wood, and Emily Bruggeman in my life! LIFE IS GOOD!

Well I’m sure tomorrow will be another adventurous day. Time to take my nightly meds, do my routine and call it a day! This girl is ready to hit the hay! Here are a few silly pictures from our journey today. Enjoy!

Until next time……….
