Woke up to sun rays beaming into my room. I laid here trying to wake up, taking a deep breathe in, holding it in, finally let it out thinking what a wonderful life this is! I’m laying here with the sunshining on my face, I’m breathing deeply and not coughing! Could life get any better than this?! Well, the only thing that could make this situation any better would be if I was waking up in my own bed! Soon hopefully really soon!
I was wiped out from yesterdays excursions so I crashed early, when I woke up this morning I had to turn on ESPN to what the highlights from the Mayweather Vs. Pacquiao fight. Can’t believe it went all twelve rounds and came down to a unanimous decision naming Mayweather as the winner. Crazy to think he 48-0! Pretty impressive!
Anyway’s once I did my morning routine, got ready, did my morning iv I was ready to strap on my tennis shoes and head out the door. It was too beautiful of a day not to take advantage of it. I’ve heard from several different people up here the Fremont Sunday Market is definitely something to check out. I thought at first, “a flea market, not so sure about that?!” But I kept an open mind, so my mom and I headed to the Fremont district. Traffic actually wasn’t that bad it only took us about ten minutes to get to our destination. Man oh man this was an impressive flea market! They had multiple streets blocked off, lots and I mean LOTS of venters ranging from hand made jewelry, antiques, repurposed furniture, fresh flowers, fresh vegetables, hand made crafts, hand made popsicles, food trucks all over the place. You name the type of food and it was available to you. Such as fire roasted pizza, Afghanistan type foods, Khan kabob sandwiches, fish and chips, bbq meats, Chinese food and so much more. This place was packed! As we were walking down the main street, we also noticed that there was a multi car garage parking lot, it was closed down over flowing with venders! We didn’t even make it into the parking garage. Like I said there was so much to look at, it was crazy!! If you ever come to Seattle you so have to check out the Fremont Sunday Market! It was mindless fun! Loved walking around looking at random things. Plus the market is very pet friendly, a lot of people had their dogs with them. It was very uncommon for a vender not to have dog biscuits and water available for the doggies! Of course any friendly dog I just had to ask if I could pet he/she. I made several friends, especially when I was standing right next to the treat bowl! Had lots of fun petting the pups but it really made me miss my four legged furry children! Even though Callie is not the type you would take to a flea market, she isn’t fawn of new people, while Maui on the other hand would be knocking people over to eat all the treats. Just made me think when I get home all those wet slobbery doggie kisses are going to mean just that much more! But it also made me realize now that I have my new breathers, I can wake up strap on my shoes and take my dogs for walks now! How great is that going to be? It was a challenge pre transplant just to walk ten feet let alone try and take two dogs with me. Oh I so can’t wait!
Anyways back to the flea market. I will say I had my first food truck experience today. Wood Shop BBQ made me the best Gluten Free Texas Chicken Sandwich. Was a very large and flavorful sandwich! Definitely two thumbs up! Before we left I just had to try a Seattle Pop. They were hand made from fresh fruit popsicles. I had a chocolate banana pop. It was chunks of bananas covered in chocolate. I seriously could have ate the entire ice chest! I was in heaven!!!! Oh yes I have a pretty cool experience I would like to share with you. As my mom and I were walking around the flea market, we came upon a booth containing home made jewelry. This gentleman took used crystals or gems from chandeliers, glued different types of paper like origami, scrapbooking paper, imported paper from around the world and glued the paper on the back of the crystals. Yes, I know it sounds kind of funky but they were way cool! I came across one of his necklaces I had to have! It must have been a sign! It was a fairly large crystal he had glued paper from an Anatomy book on the back. Well, the picture was a pair of lungs! It is way cool! I couldn’t pass it up! I will post a picture below. After several hours pasted we decided to go look for the Fremont Troll or also known as The Troll Under The Bridge.
The troll was created by four local Fremont residences, he has an actual Volkswagen Bug in his hand. It is rumored this location became a dumping grounds for trash, homeless people, and drug deals. So the residents took it upon themselves to clean up the area, and then the troll was born. This sculpture was huge the road getting to it was a pain in the neck, parking was a mess. So my mom drove by I jumped out of the car real quick, took a few photos while my mom drove around the block. I will again post several pictures blow.
After we finished in the Fremont District I was starting to get late. I wanted to several drive byes before we headed back to the apartment. We drove by Tilikum Marina and the Cornelia Maria was still in the ship yard getting repaired. Still an awesome sight to see, could never get bored looking at that specific boat! Then we ventured towards the Komo 4 news station building. Parking was a disaster on this street so it truly was a drive by. Anyway’s the outside of this building is also know as the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital on the hit tv shoe Grey’s Anatomy. Sorry wasn’t able to take any pictures. Oh well, was still pretty cool to see.
We finally made our way back towards the apartment and it was getting close to dinner time. While we were out my mom purchased a piece of fresh Lin Cod fish, and she made fish tacos for dinner. They were delicious! Then we just had a relaxing evening. Going to be a super early morning tomorrow. We have to be at the hospital by 7:30 am for clinic tomorrow. Fingers crossed we get good news! Kind of nervous to hear what they have to say!
Well I better call it a night it’s getting late, and this old girl is getting tired! Please keep your fingers, toes and everything else for us tomorrow! Will let you know how to goes! Hope everyone had a great weekend and soaked up vitamin D!
Until next time…………
