I totally forgot to tell you guys I had to go see Dr. Schreiner last Friday for a check up. Had to get the nasty lidocaine sprayed up my nose. It makes your nasal cavity go numb so they can stick a scope up there and look around. The bad part is it trickles down the back of your throat make that go numb along with your teeth and tongue! It is pretty weird. Dr. Schreiner stuck his scope in my nasal cavity and took a look around. He also did some suctioning from my frontal and sphenoid areas. He even had to get the “giant booger” pullers out. He pulled several giant dried blood boogers out. Not going to lie it felt so much better to get them out! Dr. Schreiner said things are looking great up there, nice wide open nasal passages. Just keep irrigating twice a day! Overall it was a good check up! I think it is pretty amazing the size of “boogers” he can pull out of my nose. It is like where does this stuff come from? Good grief! Can’t believe I forgot to mention that check up! Sorry 🙁
Today was a nice enjoyable day. Took the dogs down to my dads shop again and we walked all over down there. Was such a nice day! This afternoon we decided to go over and visit my Aunt D. Was good to see her, haven’t seen her since the luau. Had a great conversation and always enjoy her company! My dad treated us out to lunch, we went to Little Brother’s Pub down town. That was the first time I had ever been in there, had a great lettuce wrapped sandwich! After lunch we let the dogs play a little longer and then we came home. We sat outside enjoying the breezy weather reading a magazine! Can life get any better?
At the luau I was asked growing up did I enjoy playing sports or drag racing better? Tough question! I enjoyed playing sports but I would have to say hands down drag racing. Not just because of the adrenaline rush, but because I was with my family the entire time. It was a family sport not just an individual sport. I also feel that through drag racing it also taught me responsibility. My homework always had to be completed by Friday, along with my chores for the week. If they weren’t completed we didn’t go racing. I tried to test that theory one time, and trust me we did NOT go racing and from then on homework and chores were always done on time! Learned a valuable lesson on that one! Not only was drag racing a family sport, but we also made friendships that will last a life time! Even though we do not get to see everyone as much as we used to, we still make appoint to connect once a year. They aren’t just friends we consider them family. For example Steve and Mary Cooper came to our luau this past weekend, and we used to race with them at Coos Bay. Steve drove Super Comp at the time and their daughter Brittany raced Jr. Dragster’s with me. I thought it was so sweet they brought me a big pan of rice krispie treats! In case you are wondering Mary there aren’t many left, i’m savoring the few! Ha! We’ve shared so many amazing memories with everyone, I will never forget them!
Anyway’s just thought I would share a little drag racing background with you. I could write a novel about our drag racing days, but I don’t want to bore you guys half to death. Plus I should wrap this blog up for the evening. My new breathers and I are about ready for bed! Have to have a rice krispie treat before we call it a day! Hope everyone had a great Thursday!
Until next time……….
