Woaaazzzzers it was a toasty one today! My dogs wouldn’t even go outside to go potty! They just looked at me like I was crazy! “Why go outside in the heat when we can stay inside in the AC, mom?” That’s the look I got from them! But we played a little bit outside this evening. Maui chased her frisbee two times and then she was done. Callie just laid in the shade by me. Such funny girls! I sure did miss them while I was in Seattle, but I knew they were in good hands with my parents watching them. Seattle is such a dog friendly place, you see dogs everywhere in the city. When we go for walks, it makes me miss Maui and Callie even more. Maybe one day they could go with us. Well I might rethink that one. Callie is a great car rider, Maui on the other hand? Far from it, she is very talkative and does not stop until she is out of the car! When we went to the coast I gave her two Benadryl’s and it didn’t even phase her! The rest of us in the car were wishing we had taken the Benadryl! Ha! Oh well I still love her to pieces!

I totally forgot to tell you guys while I was at University of Washington I found out for the month of June UW has only done three lung transplants. They have transplanted 25 people so far this year. It’s still crazy to me, that I am one of those 25 people! Just thought I would share that little information with you. I find it fascinating!

This afternoon I had an appointment with Dr. Schreiner. Good ole check up on the sinuses! He wanted to stick the scope up my nose so I had to get sprayed with the lovely lidocaine numbing spray. That stuff is nasty! I do’t know if anyone else has this problem, but I always have the spray go down the back on my throat, so my throat goes numb along with my tongue and teeth! It’s so weird! Good thing it doesn’t last very long! Anyway’s when Dr. Schreiner came into the room he had a medical student shadowing him. Dr. Schreiner told him my history. How I have CF, the first time we were supposed to do sinus surgery we got the call for new lungs, so we had to put it on hold. He also talked about our benefit followed by our awesome luau! The med student said “hey I know you, I’ve read about in the newspaper!” We all started laughing, Dr. Schreiner said “yeah she’s kind of famous!” I said “no, I am just a girl who is loving life right now!” After we finished our conversation it was time to look up the old nose. Dr. Schreiner’s scope is connected to a tv, so I watched as well. It was so cool! As Dr Schreiner navigated throughout my sinuses he explained where he was, what things should look like, but how they look in CF sinuses. He pulled out a few boogers in the left side of my sinuses. He also did a little suctioning as well. When he was finished he said things were looking extremely well! No signs of pseudomonas, or inflammation anywhere! I was very pleased to hear the good news! He also said since my new lungs are doing well, the sinuses are doing well, I don’t have to follow up with him until 6 months! Or unless I have issues then of course I will call. But how cool is that? Don’t have to go to Seattle for three months, sinus doc until 6 months it is like we are on auto pilot! Surgeries are complete, central lines are out, no more feeding tubes, no NOTHING! It is like things are starting to slow down. Well, I hope anyway’s ha! Before I left Dr. Schreiner’s office I left some just breathe bracelets with him. He was very happy to receive them. He put on one right away and then he said he would pass the rest out! Totally made me smile!

Well tomorrow is going to be another busy day for this girl. Time to kick back, relax and watch Deadliest Catch before I call it a day! One more thing before I go. There are still several bottles of Just Breathe wine available if anyone would like to purchase one! If so, just let me know and I will get you one!

Hope everyone had a great Tuesday! Life is good!

Until next time……..

Oh yes! Did anyone watch American Ninja Warrior? Ryan Ripley was one of the contestants who is battling Cystic Fibrosis, he referred to himself as the CF Warrior! Way to take back your life Ryan, and fight everyday! So cool!

Also did anyone else see Jupiter and one of it’s moons tonight? How cool was that? I was in total awe! Hope everyone got to catch a glimpse of it! 🙂
