Today was another great day in Seattle today. The weather was overcast but felt good outside!

Both my mom and I slept in. Woke up did our morning routine, ate breakfast then decided to go for a walk. We walked across the street wondered around the restaurants and shops. Then we decided to walk around and look at some yachts. Boy oh boy there were some pretty fancy ones! We probably walked around for a good hour. The fresh air felt good!

By the time we arrived back at the hotel my dad was here. We all three sat ate lunch and visited for quite awhile. After about an hour of visiting it was nap time for this girl. Actually I’m pretty sure all three of us took a nap! Ha ha

After we all woke up we decided to go for another walk. Had to show my dad our dream yachts! Ha ha. After we wondered the docks for awhile we decided to have dinner at Chandler’s Cove. Man oh man it was delicious!!!!!! The best part was our waitress found out I just had a double lung transplant she brought me a complementary warm gluten free brownie with vanilla ice cream on top. My favorite part was she put a lit candle in it and I was able to blow it out! I didn’t cough, hack up a lung, struggle to catch my breathe afterwards NOTHING!!! It was truly amazing!! I can’t thank my donor enough for giving me a second chance at life and being able to blow out that candle. It’s truly an amazing gift! Indescribable at times. After dinner and dessert we waddled back across the street to our hotel. Just in case you were wondering the walk felt great and I did great! Even uphill! We are making progress each day!

Kerry should be arriving soon. So we are all just relaxing for the evening.

Kimberli Ann Dubi-Davidson wrote in and asked “This question is from Andrew( he is 11). How does it feel? Not just” my chest hurts” ,but how does it really feel.” That is a very thought provoking question!! I remember the RT (respiratory therapist) pulling the tube and I remember trying to take that first breath, I was trying to take short shallow breaths because that’s what I was used to. Once they put my nasal cannula in I slowed my breathing down and was able to take some slow deep breaths in. I sorta did a self system check trying to see if these lungs felt part of me. And physically they didn’t feel strange. This feeling of these lungs don’t belong to me came over me, and I still feel that way today. Being able to walk and do things I couldn’t do before it’s unbelievable!! I was trying to remember the last time I could breathe this easy and I would have to say probably my freshman year of high school which was 16 years ago. Pretty crazy!

Well tomorrow is going to be another eventful day I’m sure. Time to start my evening routine and call it a day. Hope everyone had a Thursday!!

Until next time………

It doesn’t seem possible that it has been 16 years since your freshman year. I guess that means I really am getting old. Take care my young friend and keep up the posts I read them every night before I go to sleep and then say a prayer for you. You are a special young lady!

Just remembering the band concerts your freshman year. Was amazed at that time how well you breathed to be able to play an instrument.
