Good evening all,
I’M BACK! It’s been a while since I have talked with all of you. Boy has it been a journey so far. Correction…It’s been an amazing journey so far. To be able to sit here, take a deep breath and not cough is incredible.
Today was a good day! The morning started off with an X-ray, and the doctor said it looked great. Hopefully tomorrow they will consider take a chest tube or two out so I can move a little better. If not, maybe Monday.
A funny thing happened today. The pharmacist came in to go over medications again today, but this time she had the picture list too. Well she wasn’t able to find one of the meds in the pill box, so she went to dump a morning set out for one of the days. Well another day may have been opened and she dumped them on the floor. Glad it was her and not me. She got it fixed though.
The occupational therapist came through early this afternoon and we started the process of learning to perform daily functions with this incision across my chest. Boy was it nice to comb my hair today. Once these chest tubes come out, I will be ready for a shower!
The doctor gave me a goal of 5-6 laps today. She also said that 9 laps was equal to a half mile. I am not sure when the last time I was able to walk a half mile was, but here in about an hour I will go over the 1/2 mile mark for the day! 3 more laps will give me 10 for the day! It feels so good to walk!

So happy for you. We went to Seven Feathers tonight and it made me think of when you worked there as a valet and you would take off running across the parking lot. You never let anything stop you, I so admire you. Keep up the good job. Soon you will be running those laps.

i have been praying for you for some time. I am actually family in that my maiden name is Lockwood. You are amazing! I am sure you will feel better every day. I know what it feels like to get your hair washed after so long! It feels so good. Just know I will continue to pray and I am thrilled you are feeling better.
