Let the countdown begin! Day 11 is almost complete! Whoop whoop! But boy has it been a busy day. Between therapy treatments, iv antibiotics, and a room full of visitors the day flew by. Had some great friends stop in today, whom I haven’t seen in awhile. Always nice catching up with them! My friend Jenny Folsom and her family arrived safely from Arizona early this morning, so glad we could visit for a little while. Then of course, my family came in. All I have to say is they are amazing! All the love and support I receive not just from my family but friends is well, is what gets me through these tough times. I couldn’t do it without you, and I truly can’t thank each and everyone enough!
I received some great news today!! My fellow CFer Jay Starr has been relisted at Stanford University and also at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) for his second lung transplant! The last couple weeks have been a roller coaster ride for them, but looks like they will be getting an amazing Christmas gift!!! I told Jay he still owes me a ride in his corvette and I’m holding him to it! He’s the one who taught me when things get rough, you pick up your boxing gloves and start swinging! We don’t go down without a fight!! Let me tell you he is definitely one of the strongest people I know!! Keep up the fight Jay, we WILL win!
The “auto pilot” button is still on, and we are cruising right along! My old airbags are feeling great! Able to take in big breath and cough junk out. Love it! My oxygen sats are hovering between 97-98% still using 4 liters of oxygen. Feeling great! Dr. Chakraborty was off today, one of the hospitalist rounded today. He came in took a quick listen, and said “alright dear you look great! We aren’t going to change a thing!” He asked me if he could do anything for me and I joking said “yeah I need a new set of lungs if you happen to come across some!” He laughed and replied “I’ll see what I can do!” Hey you have to liven things up just a little in here. :).
Well it’s time to start my final round of therapy for the evening, then off to bed! I hope everyone had a great Saturday! Stay dry!
Until next time……
