What the heck Mariners!!!!??? That was horrible!! 12-0 to Oakland good grief??!! Okay enough about the game, on with the day!
Started the morning with rehab, had a great workout. Still only focusing on leg strengthening and balance. My goal is to be able to snowboard next season! Although I need a snowboarding partner, since my “main squeeze” now resides in New Hampshire! EMILY!!! 🙂 My PTA has been adding a new exercise each time I visit, which is good! Work those breathers and get my legs back to shape in my main focus! As I was warming up on the treadmill today, I started thinking to myself since May how de-conditioned my legs have been. Even though I pushed myself pre transplant there was only so much I could before I was completely wiped out. Somedays just putting a load of laundry away was enough to tire me out. Walking back and forth from the the living room to the closet, YIKES! At rehab my PTA puts 12 pound weights on my legs and has med various leg exercises with them on. Just walking around is a challenge for me! But I am extremely proud to say I am doing it! I can honestly admit I got slightly short of breathe today. I was doing my final exercise today which was climbing stairs. I normally climb stairs for 2 minutes and do okay, but today I went for 3 minutes and that was a good challenge for me! Got the heart rate going and and my O2 sats dropped to 95%. After a slight break my heart rate came back down and my O2 sats came back up to 98%! Felt great! Still making strides!
After rehab we swung into Paint The Town picked up the rest of our pottery and painted a few more pieces. I have to say Callie’s dog dish and my dads Rat Fink platter turned out pretty awesome! The “Just Breathe” bowls my mom and I painted turned out amazing as well! Here a few pics to enjoy!
Once we finished our pottery we dropped my dad off back at the apartment, and then hurried out to the airport. It was time for Emily’s plane to land!! I could not wait to hug her, it has been WAY TOO long! We met her out front of the terminals, I could’t get out of the car fast enough once I saw her. We both gave each other the biggest hug possible and the tears started flowing. Very emotional, but so grateful to see her!!!!!! We chatted the entire way back to the apartment and then just enjoyed the evening visiting. We both realized the last time she was in Oregon (which was for our fundraiser back in January) that was the last time I slept in my own bed! Seems like forever ago! Well I guess it has ha ha!
Well today was another busy, and i’m not sure what is in store for tomorrow. I know we are all sleeping in and having a relaxing morning! But where the day takes us who knows! Alright its shut eye time for this girl. Hope everyone had a great Friday.
Until next time………….
