Boy this morning was raining and yucky! I enjoyed my morning cup of tea while my dogs curdled up next time on the couch. So relaxing and a wonderful feeling! I know I’ve said this before but I just can’t get over it. I am truly enjoying waking up on my own in the morning, enjoying a morning cup of tea, get ready for the day and still be out the door in the AM for appointments! Although at times it still feels like a part of me is missing, I do not miss doing therapy! I have been doing some form of chest therapy for the past 29 years, and to just let that go feels incredibly weird! Even being three months post transplant I still find myself looking at the clock thinking “okay I need to sit down and do my vest, or I have a certain neb I need to.” Then I realize all of that went away no more! Such a strange feeling! I have also noticed when I go to make doctor appointments or whatever, I usually made them in the afternoon, now I have to stop and think “oh yeah no more therapy!” I can make my appointments whenever! Love it!

Okay I’ll stop rambling about silly things. This morning I had to go to ATC for some lab work done and a dressing change on my central line. I finished my iv antibiotic’s last Thursday whoop whoop! The plan is to keep the central line in until I have sinus surgery. It was great to see all the ATC staff, they all had big smiles on their faces and welcomed m with open arms! So great to visit with everyone!

After I finished at ATC I ran over to the Cancer Center. No, I really didn’t run, I drove over I had a ton of stuff to donate ha! Since I no longer have a feeding tube I had a ton of left over tube feeds, tube feed supplies and I also had several boxes of Scandi Shakes. Scandi Shakes is a weight gaining powered you mix in one cup of milk, drink it, and there is around 580 calories in just that one cup! My weight has been staying stable and then some, I do not have to drink Scandi Shakes anymore. Thank goodness! Any CF’er knows have YUCKY they are! Ha! Instead of throwing everything away, I really wanted to donate the stuff and let someone else benefit from it. Long story there are patients at the cancer center who could use all of my old stuff! I was beyond thrilled to help others! Such a great feeling!

I had to run to Lincare and return a few items that were left at my house. When I walked in the door I was greeted by everyone! Lots of smiles and questions. I also noticed they had my newspaper article hanging on the wall. It totally put a smile on my face! Once I was finished at Lincare it was off to see Dr. Schreiner!

I didn’t have to wait long to be called back when I arrived at his office. He came in the door holding his arms out “asking is it okay if I give you a hug? I won’t squeeze or pat your back!” I had to laugh and say “of course I would LOVE a hug!” He didn’t look in my nose, he pulled up my CT scan from back in January, he read through my chart notes from UW, and came up with a game plan. Surgery needs to happen ASAP! As of right now we are schedule for May 29th at 9:30 am. Unless there is a cancellation then it could happen sooner. Fingers and toes are crossed that could happen! Since I have new healthy breathers now, sinus surgery will be a day procedure, no being admitted! Whoop whoop! Dr. Scheiner and I had a good conversation, it was nice to catch up with him. Such a nice, caring person! I feel like this surgery is the last piece to the puzzle. Once it’s complete I can continue healing like a “normal” person. Plus I can’t wait to go camping this summer! Ahhh we are almost there! I can see the light!

After I finished in town I came home grabbed my dogs and we headed down to my dads shop. The weather was half way decent and we need to get our exercise on! My dad was busy working on saws so I threw the ball for Maui while we walked around the truck yard. Callie was more in tuned to what my dad was doing. We played for a little while and then the wind kicked up and it got cold! I went into the shop stood by the fire to warm up! Then my dad needed help unloading several saws off his trailer. That meant I had to drive the hyster! I was excited to help, when I jumped on the hyster I had to remember how to drive it! YICKS! After a few seconds I came right back to me. Truly enjoyed going down to the shop and helping out! I have missed that place a lot! Feels great to be back!
