Happy Friday!
The morning started off early with rehab, or so I thought. I was putting my shoes on to head out the door, when my phone rang. It was the receptionist from rehab letting me know it was canceled for today. One of the PT’s was out sick, and the other PTA had a sudden death in her family. I was sorry rehab was canceled under those circumstances. So I kicked my shoes off and crawled back into bed. I instantly fell asleep and didn’t wake up until noon. YIKES! I didn’t mean to sleep that long, but I will say I felt much better afterwards!!!
My mom and I decided to venture out. I needed to run back to UW Outpatient pharmacy and collect the rest of my medications. Kerry decided to stay back at the apartment. Traffic wasn’t too bad getting across town. I ran in really quick, while my mom waited out front for me. I was only gone probably fifteen minutes or so, got back in the car as we started to pull out another car came and boxed us in. A gentleman got out walked up to the driver side window and proceeded to tell my mom she was parked illegally, and that spot was only for mail carriers. I was trying to so hard not to laugh, my mom said “If you had noticed, I was trying to leave!” Let me remind you she didn’t say it in a very nice voice. Pretty comical in my opinion!
When we finally escaped the mad parking lot of UW, and headed north. We decided to go check out the Seattle Premium Outlets, which is located in Marysville. From UW it was about an half an hour drive. Such a nice shopping center!! Any and every store you can think of is there! We only made to a couple of stores within a few hours. Definitely want to go back! They had a Coach outlet. My dad had purchased a Coach purchase for my mom for Christmas. Well long story short the handles are falling apart, so we stopped in to see if they could fix it. Wandered in the UGG outlet, had some super cute flats and boots! After we made it into several other stores, we realized it was after 5:00 o’clock! We both looked at each other and decided it was time to head south before we got stuck in traffic. Before we left Marysville we needed to get gas. I will admit my mom is becoming quite the gas pumper! haha! We well she successfully filled the car up, and didn’t have to ask for help! I stayed in the car this time! Ha ha!
We made it safely back to our apartment, met Kerry in the bar. We were all visiting, and then our “group” grew. Ended up meeting a couple from Tennessee, who became grandparents for the first time today. Their new grand baby Hudson is in the NICU at UW, he was born three weeks early but is doing just fine! A younger gentleman joined our group and he is out here from North Carolina, out here on a work related trip. He assists with spinal surgeries, he has certain equipment he can hook up to the patient and asses their nerves while the surgeon performs an operation. It was pretty cool to listen to him. Then finally we met a lady from Hawaii, her son is her waiting a bone marrow transplant. She has been here since September. I really enjoyed just sitting in the bar (drinking a Dr. Pepper on the rocks of course) meeting new people, and listening to their stories. You never know what people are going through until you start a friendly conversation with them! Pretty neat! After we finished all of our conversations, we ordered Chinese food to be delivered to our apartment. It was good, but sure made me miss home!
Well it’s nightly routine time for this girl. Did a lot of walking today, and I’m ready to relax! Not sure whats on tomorrow’s agenda, guess we will just have to wait and see! Hope everyone has a great Friday night!
Until next time………….
