Hey Hey Everyone~
Today has been a super crazy fun filled day for this girl!!!!! Started the day with enjoying sleeping in followed by a hot cup of tea and of course how could I forget The Price Is Right!!! It’s become part of my “morning routine!” Not sure what I’m going to do when I get back to reality! Ha ha!
After our show was over my dad and I got ready for the day. He had to make a few phone calls before we left and so did I along with fill up my SAMS box. One person I’ve been dying to talk to since I’ve left is Dr. Gold. Who is my CF doctor at Oregon Health Science University. We have a very special relationship, he holds a very special place in my heart! If it wasn’t for this man and his team back in May I probably would not be here today. Anyways I was able to catch him in his office for once! We had a great conversation, and he was beyond excited I called! He kept saying “JD (that’s my nickname he calls me) I can’t believe I am actually talking to you! I am on my way to clinic and I cannot wait to tell the rest of the team I just spoke to you!” Of course we talked about my dolphins up and coming schedule followed by Troy Polamalu’s retirement. He is from Pittsburgh and is a HUGE Steelers fan. Totally enjoyed our conversation, was great to hear the excitement in his voice. Can’t wait to see him next time I have clinic at OHSU!
Once our phone calls were complete my dad and I took off and headed towards Tillicum Marina. This is where I saw the Cornelia Maria docked, while Emily and I were on the Duck Tour. I wanted to go back and get some better pictures of vessel. Thank goodness for Siri she successfully navigated us right to the marina. We found a place to park, I quickly grabbed my camera and headed straight for the ship! I was acting like a kid in a candy store, I was stoked. My dad kept laughing at me. It was in the “ship yard” getting worked on. Little did we know, we just walked down the dock (staying out of people’s way of course) walked right up to the Cornelia Maria, I was in awe!! after watching the season premier of Deadliest Catch last night, the TV doesn’t do justice on how big those crab boats really are!!! I was amazed!! She is a HUGE crab boat!! Of course I was taking pictures left and right, and then I caught myself just staring at the wheelhouse. I kept thinking about the late captain Phil Harris and now boat owner Josh Harris. So many memories of Phil from the show and now he is no longer with us. It’s almost indescribable exactly the thoughts running through my head. We also saw captain Casey McManus, he was busy with what looked to be inspectors. So I didn’t get a picture with him. :(. Oh well maybe next time. Finally after about 20-25 minutes or so someone came over the loud speaker and told us we weren’t authorized to be on the dock. Oops! At least they let us stay for a little while and enjoy watching people work on the Cornelia Maria. Ha ha 🙂
The sun was out in full force today so we walked to the nearest pier and just looked at all the boats coming and going on the lake, we also were dreaming about several very nice yachts that were docked near by too. Hey we can dream can’t we?? 🙂
We finally decided to have Siri navigate us back to the apartment, once again she didn’t let us down! We parked the car, and then hopped on the trolley. There is a Tesla dealership downtown. My dad and I have been wanting to go in and look at these amazing machines! We looked and even sat in several different models. I will say for being an electric car they are pretty sweet!!! Very pretty on the inside! The salesman was doing his best to sell us one, but he also shared some very interesting facts about Tesla Motor Company. I actually enjoyed just listening to him speak! After about an hour in store we decided to walk to Buffalo Wild Wings for a quick snack. We took off on foot walking probably a good 8 or so blocks and a slight incline, was good for both of us! Love challenging my new breathers!!
It was about 4:45 and we needed to get back to the apartment. One of my good friends flew in today to visit for a few days. I was excited to see her!!! I haven’t seen Alesha Sullivan since I left February 3rd. Nothing has changed, it was just like old times we picked up right where we left off! I don’t think either one of us stopped talking! Ha ha. Eventually we had to stop talking and get ready to go!! “Good girls never miss church” was tonight. We had tickets to go see Brother Osborne and Eric Church at the Key Arena tonight!!!! So excited!! Actually I’m not sure I was more excited for the concert, or the fact I can cross off another bucket list item!! I finally have a new pair of breathers that allow me to do things, a year ago that weren’t even an option!! Such as going to a concert and being able to sing at the top of my lungs and NOT gasping for air, or having a major coughing fit, or best of yet not in dire need of therapy afterwards!!! I will admit I have a hoarse voice tonight, from all the singing I did!!! I know for a fact my singing didn’t sound pretty, but hey I really don’t care!! I enjoyed every minute of it!!! Oh the concert was great!! Brother Osborne are crazy good and then there’s Eric Church. Who I have seen in concert before, but always worth seeing again. He always puts on one heck of a show! He just kept playing hit after hit after hit! LOVED IT!!!!!!! Can’t believe I just sang for like four hours straight and not once did I cough!!! Life is good!!!
Well Alesha and I just got back to the apartment and we both are beyond ready to call it day! Mr. Sunshine is suppose to be back in full force tomorrow, so I am positive we will grab our tennis shoes and take advantage of it!! Can’t wait to show Alesha how far I can walk and be a “normal” person now! Who knows what the day will bring. But I did warn her from 10-11 in the apartment is hour power time, we can’t do anything until it’s over! Ha ha 🙂
Alright it’s extremely late for this girl. My eyes are getting very heavy! Hope everyone had a great Thursday! I know I sure did!!!!!
Until next time………….

“Just Breathe”
It always amazes me how many activities you can cram into a day!! Holy smokes, I don’t do that much stuff in months. Great pics and keep up the good work, you and your new breathers are impressive!! 🙂
You should have yelled…hey I just got new lungs and need to climb the boat to see if I want to keep them …so happy your having great fun and crossing off bucket list events……you Rock Star!!!
Can tell you right now that I couldn’t begin to do a fraction of what you do in a day!! Keep up the good work! I agree with Connie,”you rock”!!!!
There’s a great documentary about Tesla on Netflix. Really interesting story.
Thanks for the info! I need something to help pass the time in this joint! haha
