It’s been an extremely day here in Seattle. Kerry left bright and early this morning, work was calling his name, tomorrow my dad is heading out bright and early as well. It will just be my mom and I in the big city!

After Kerry left this morning I went right back to sleep, and didn’t wake up until after 10 o’clock. Needless to say I was a little late taking my tacromilus this morning. Oops! I quickly made a cup of tea and swallowed my morning meds. Sat on the couch, enjoyed a rice crispy treat for breakfast. Breakfast of champions! Ha ha!

Drag racing came on at eleven. I will say not having a DVR up here, really stinks lol! My parents and I were making plans for the day when we looked to see what time the races started, good thing we did or we would have missed them! I would have not been a happy camper! A girls got to have her drag races! Ha ha! In between commercials we would watch the Bristol race as well. I was super happy to see Doug Kalita and Ron Capps pick up a win. Sad to her Connie “Con-Rad” Kalita was recovering from surgery and wasn’t able to attend the race. In my book he holds a lot of class, got to meet both Doug and Connie in Seattle last year, something I will never forget. Although it was pretty impressive Kurt Bush led 291 laps out of 400!

Anyways enough with the racing, once the drags were over I took a nice long nap! Slept for several hours. Woke up to my mom making a delicious Sunday dinner. Pot roast, potatoes, carrots, corn and gravy. My oh my was it good! Then we just hung out and watched Draft Day followed by Guilt Trip. Draft Day was a great movie!! Guilt Trip was cute, cheesy laughs here and there.

Needless to say I feel rested and ready to take on the week. Guess my body just needed some extra rest! Tomorrow I have to report to the hospital for early lab draws, followed by an afternoon appointment with Dr. Wright who is an endocrinologist. Prednisone tapper is down to 10 mg daily, my blood sugar numbers have been staying stable, so hopefully soon we can get ride of the insulin! Wouldn’t that be nice? One step at a time I guess!

Well I hope everyone had a great weekend! My nightly meds are down the hatch, and I finished pushing in my iv, its time to go get comfy in my bed! Cheers everyone!

Until next time………..

One Response to Lazy Day & Drag Races!

  1. Aunt Levie says:

I want a large, told her yesterday. Told her who I was and that she could give it to Mom to hold till I get out there, also told her I would send the money to Mom. Haven’t heard back yet to see if she still has one. Hoping you get to give up the insulin, Yuk, the same for Prednisone, don’t like that stuff. Have a great day and just breathe! Love you!!
