Today Kerry and I spent time trying to pick out a secondary insurance plan. I am very grateful to be covered under Kerry’s insurance (MODA) as my primary insurance. I do have Medicare as my secondary insurance. The only prescription coverage I have is through MODA. I have to say making sure you have coverage for specialty medication is a very confusing task, nor is it easy. I feel like I need to have a degree in insurance language to understand everything. haha. Thank goodness for Kerry’s Aunt Lori. She was very patient in helping us. She took the time to explain each different plan, and answer any questions we had. She was a huge help! It’s more than just looking at the plan(s) and finding which one will “work” the best. Making sure all of your doctors, specialty doctors, hospitals, specialty clinics, CF medication, and post transplant medication will be covered. There are a lot of steps that need to be checked along the way! Hopefully we are able to get the answers to our questions in the next day or two, so we can make a guess on which will be the best for our situation. Hoping for answers soon, as the open enrollment window closes on Sunday.
After our insurance meeting, we ran by Creative Media Group to pick up more posters and brochures! Thanks Dan, Scott, and Leah for all your hard work and help on our project. Also, wanted to say a quick thank you to those who have called about tickets to the fundraiser, to the people who have donated to our cause, and to the local businesses who have displayed the posters promoting my January 17th event.
Trying to get some rest tonight, as my cough seems to be coming back after my hospital stay. Hoping that it is comes back VERY slowly! Off to therapy! Good night!
