Today was such an amazing day! I literally cannot put into words how awesome it feels to be home! Waking up in my own bed the past two mornings are unbelievable. Oh i’ve missed home more than anyone will ever know!

Started my morning off by having my hair done. It need some serious help from Valene Allen! Just a few days before our fundraiser was the last time I had my hair done, needless to say it was well over do! Had to get my crack filled! Ha ha!! After having the transplant I swear my grey hairs have tripled! YIKES! Val did a great job of getting rid of them! Ahh so glad to see her! Next on my list was Sarah Kammeyer at Lux’s. She takes care of my eyebrows, and let me tell you they were a forest! I’m pretty sure when she saw them she said “oh my!” Thank goodness she was able to whip those puppies back into shape! Phewwwww thank you ladies!

Once I was done with those two appointments I needed to run by Walgreens and pick up some more glucose test strips. I cheated wasn’t in really in the mood to be around strangers and having to mask up so I took advantage of the drive thru. I know I am lazy. Ha ha The lady was super nice and took good care of me.

After I completed my little adventure to Walgreens I swung by Dr. Chakraborty’s office, he met me in the parking lot and gave me a great big welcome home hug! Oh man it was so good to see him! He told me to grab my mask, he wanted to “show me off” to his office staff. We all had a nice visit, and it was great to see him and his staff! Ahhhh felt great to receive a welcome home hugs!

I was finally on my way home afterwards, time to play with my pups! Boy they sure gave me the sad eye when I left this morning. It broke my heart I felt horrible! We went outside and played in the backyard for a while. Then my dad needed a ride back down to WSK. A huge THANK YOU to WSK Machine and my dad for getting the ’41 back up and running! She’s a beast, needs a little more tinkering under the hood but she’s sounding AWESOME! I’m itching to get behind the wheel! I keep telling Marty and my dad she needs a hat! Maybe someday ha ha! Nah she’s going to be an awesome car to ride around in this summer! Ahhhhh good times!

I have to say I was beyond excited to go to dinner tonight. A big group of us got together at Carlos Restaurant for dinner. It was beyond exciting to see Ken & Jennifer Wood, Marty & Shellberg, Aunt D, Todd, Candy and Stephanie Boerste, and everyone else in the restaurant! Ahhh I am only lucky person to be able to surround myself with some very special people who are near and dear to my heart. I’m not sure if I was more excited to see everyone or the fact I could actually sit and laugh with everyone and not cough up a storm. I felt like it was the first time people could actually hear my laugh. As I sit here writing this blog reflecting back on dinner it’s bringing tears to my eyes! I’m am beyond thankful to have each and everyone of you as part of my family! It is truly a miracle! Love seeing our group back together, makes me super excited for all the fun we are going t have this summer!

Well today has been a busy day, but an amazing day! The new breathers are feeling so awesome! I just pushed in my last iv in!! We are going to leave my central line in until I have sinus surgery which hopefully will be very soon! After that we will have it taken out! Can’t wait time for these scars to heal and start fading. Although I look at my scars daily thinking about this journey and what an amazing ride it’s been. Plus I think to myself often “how lucky am I to get a second chance at life! Did this really just happen? Someone needs to pinch me.” Truly an amazing experience. I know I say that quite often, and I apologize but it’s true!

Well it is getting late and tomorrow is going to be another busy day! The “girls” aka my four legged furry children and I are riding over to Coquille with my dad to pick up saws. Should be a great time! The doggies will be happy! Cheers everyone!

Until next time…….

It felt great to see you too Jen and share the welcome hug . And every time we meet , its a brighter fresher version that gets me all happy and dandy ( version 3.0 or 4.0 now ? oh well Ive lost count).
As for the town folks, youll be amazed to know how many people walk to my office for their own problems but end the visit, talking about how joyous they are for you ( ” the Meyers girl, Teresa’s kid, the Dwight girl, the little one” – no one surprisingly mentions your name ) , how they have been following this blog every day , and checking up with me if they have missed any updates. Its been an amazing journey towards the glory days not only for you but for people around you, and people you dont know or see in this little town. They have learnt to hope, believe , have faith and laugh with you… Im just another one of them… keep breathing .
