It was another beautiful day in Seattle! A little on the chilly side but the sun was shining bright! This morning we all woke up enjoyed our cups of coffee (tea for me), got around and was out the door by 10:30. We decided to explore the Queen Anne district. It’s one of Seattle’s oldest districts. Lots of restaurants, shops and some really pretty older homes. We even found a manicure/pedicure shop and my dad treated all four of us to pedicures. Oh man my feet were looking pretty bad, but not after today!! My feet can’t thank you enough dad!! After we finished our pedi’s we drove to Kerry’s Park, yes that’s right we went to Kerry’s Park. You take in the views from downtown Seattle, Elliott Bay, West Seattle, Bainbridge Island and Mount Rainier. Boy, today was a perfect day to take in the sights! I took my mask off for a quick picture, didn’t want to look like a bank robber! Ha ha. We stayed at the park for quiet awhile. Was peaceful just taking in the views. After we finished at Kerry’s Park we took the scenic route back to our hotel. We didn’t arrive back at our room until 3:30! Needless to say it’s been a long but adventurous day for me!
The fresh air felt great on my new breathers! Made them work today. LOVING my new lungs!!! So very grateful.
An update on obtaining pictures of my old and new lungs. If any pictures were taken pathology would have taken them before they sent my old lungs out to CF research. I have post transplant clinic tomorrow morning, afterwards my plan was to stop by pathology and see if I can get copies. If I do obtain pictures I will most definitely share them with you guys! I also have a CF slideshow presentation I have done in several different science classrooms and I think it would be pretty cool to add the pictures to it as well. So keep your fingers crossed!!
I also got a phone call from Carisa at the News Review, wanting to do a follow up story on our journey. She asked lots of great questions. The story is suppose to be printed in tomorrow (Wednesday’s) paper. So keep your eye out! The article also mentions our upcoming events at Loggers Pizza & Tap House, and also our post lung transplant luau! The luau is scheduled for June 7th at Pyrenees Winery. You can purchase tickets on our website or you can purchase tickets at Creative Media Group on Cass street. Hope to see everyone there!!! It’s going to be one fun celebration!!!!
Well tomorrow is clinic day, so our day will begin extra early. I better start in on my nightly routine and then head for bed. Hope everyone had a great Tuesday!
Until next time……..
