Today was a nasty day here in Seattle. The rain clouds came in late last night and decided to stay all day. YUCK!
My mom and I decided to travel to Ballard to see what it was all about. It is an interesting little town. Lots of old architectural buildings, with vintage signs hanging on the outside of them. Lots of great photo opportunities. We also drove to the Ballard Locks, that was pretty impressive! Of course we checked out the Fisherman’s Terminal, and the Ballard Marina I was in search of other crab boats from Deadliest Catch. I stuck out, oh well. A local fisherman said they dock all the Deadliest Catch boats on a private dock up in Alaska. He said they only time you see one of those boats down here is if they are headed to a ship yard to be worked on. I guess too many crazy people drive around looking for the boats, wanting to take photos! Oh wait that was me! Ha ha! We had to at least try. Now I feel really lucky to see the Cornelia Maria when I did!
I had a learning experience today. We found this great little hole in the wall burger joint in Ballard. We decided to stop and have lunch at the Giant Totem. It was very colorful on the outside and decorated super cute on the inside. Walked inside looked over the menu, ordered found a table to sit down at. I started digging through my purse looking for my insulin pen, and glucose meter, and I wasn’t finding it. I finally released I went off and left my pen and glucose meter sitting on the kitchen table back at the apartment, along with my 2 o’clock iv! Oops!!! Major mistake on my part, couldn’t believe I had done that! So needless to say our take in lunch quickly became a take out lunch! We ventured back to the apartment so I could check my blood sugar and then enjoy our lunch. It was a delicious cheeseburger, the patties here huge too! Good grief!
Once we finished our lunch my mom got a call from work, and needed to login to her computer and help them out. I just played around the apartment did a few things for the up and coming luau, did a few chores, watched it pour buckets outside and now waiting for a new episode of Deadliest Catch to come on! My favorite show ever!!!
They are saying Mr. Sunshine is suppose to be back in full force tomorrow! I sure hope he is! Definitely ready to get out go for a walk and make my new breathers work!!!
