The verdict is in with Dr. Schreiner. My frontal and sphenoid sinuses are completely blocked off. Full of thick yucky mucus. Dr. Schreiner will go in, clean them out and open them back up. Or in other words “going to do some major power washing!” Ha ha. For most people sinus surgery is a day procedure, with me, more than likely I will be admitted in to the hospital under watchful eye for a few days. Keeping an eye on my lungs, since the are so awesome and work so well! Ha ha. Oh well, just another road block to get through. We will, I always find a way to come out swinging. This will be my sixth sinus surgery, so this won’t be my first rodeo! Surgery will obviously be done here in Roseburg. I am comfortable with that. I know Dr. Schreiner will do an amazing job, and then I’ll have Dr. Chakraborty taking care of my lungs, which whom I completely trust!

It is also important we address this issue for two reasons. Reason number one we need this problem taking care of before I have my transplant. Wouldn’t want to put a brand new set of lungs in me with pockets full of infections. That’s just asking for a disaster to happen! Secondly, hopefully this will help eliminate infections in my lungs. We are 99% sure my sinuses is what sent me back to the hospital the second time around.

We do not have a surgery date yet. My insurance has to approve it first, then we will schedule it. Dr. Schreiner and Seattle want it done sooner rather than later. I have a feeling it will happen right after we get back from Seattle. So we will have to wait and see!

Been out and about the last couple of days with my dad delivering tickets and collecting donations. Such an amazing feeling! It’s amazing how many people who want to help. I feel extremely lucky! I can’t say thank you enough! Again if you would like to purchase tickets, make a donation to our fundraiser, whether it is money or items for the auction, please let me know! Would love to come see your smiling faces!

Well my therapy machine just went off. Last round of treatments done for today. Time to go hook up to my tube feeds!

Until next time……
