So I have something pretty exciting to share. A few nights ago in my nightly blog I had talked about Cristen Powell being my childhood hero. Well little did I know my good friend Erin Weber reached out to her on Facebook. Saturday morning I got a message from Erin saying I need to check my “other” message folder on Facebook. So I jumped on my iPad and looked low and behold I had a message from Cristen Powell! I could NOT believe it! I was like a kid in a candy store! Beyond excited and on cloud nine! Cristen had said Erin sent her a message on Facebook containing the link to our blog. She also said she had read a few other blogs, getting to know our story. She was very kind to say how much of a fighter I am, and I am the one who is the hero. I was left speechless, i seriously had tears in my eyes! Someone you have looked up to since you were a youngest is reaching out to you, giving you all these complements? Oh my! I seriously couldn’t thank Erin enough for putting us back in touch. It was truly amazing to reconnect with Cristen!
Saturday afternoon Emily and her girls came over for awhile and it was also Kerry’s birthday. Her girls are so adorable! Hannah (who is 4) and Jayme (who is 2.5) the fell in love with Maui, and i’m pretty sure Maui fell in love with them. They chased Maui all over the yard trying to get the frisbee from her. It was so stinking cute! Love those two to pieces! I will have to say I really enjoyed having Hannah and Jayme over. I was reflecting back on our “play day” and I wanted to cry. Just the fact I was able to play with Hannah and Jayme WITHOUT coughing or being short of breathe. I could pick them up, hug them run around the yard with them, it was simply amazing!!!! The last time I saw Hannah and Jayme was around Christmas time, and I was on oxygen. Just picking one of the girls up to sit on my lap was a major deal for me. Way too much coughing, shortness of breath and had to use more oxygen. But not anymore! What an incredible feeling! Later that evening Craig and Alesha came over for a bbq. Was a nice relaxing evening.
Today Emily and I had a relaxing morning. enjoyed our coffee outside on the patio. Was sure a nice morning, which turned into a beautiful day. The breeze made it nice. This evening Emily and I had dinner at my parents house. Nothing like a home cooked meal! Sad to say my mom did not make tacos tonight, but she did make a mean pork tenderloin! Oh man did it taste good! Now Emily and I are relaxing getting ready to watch a movie.
As I sit here writing this blog I cannot believe one week ago was the luau! It seems like it was yesterday! Crazy how fast time flies! Well, time to get comfy for the evening and watch a movie. Hope everyone had a great relaxing weekend! Cheers everyone!
Until next time……..
